FCC Seeks New Rules for Business Data Services

The FCC has found the special access tariffs filed by four incumbent local exchange carriers (AT&T, Verizon, CenturyLink and Frontier) to be unjust and unreasonable, with the effect of decreasing facilities-based competition and inhibiting the transition to new technologies. In its Q1 financial statement, Amazon noted that its Amazon Web Services unit generated revenue of $2.57 billion, up 64% year-over-year. Cypress Semiconductor agreed to acquire Broadcom's Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) business and related assets for $550 million in cash.
