Expand Networks, a start-up based in Roseland, New Jersey with R&D in Israel, announced a $9.0 million round of financing for its WAN compression and acceleration appliances. Alcatel signed a strategic OEM agreement to resell WaterCove Networks' Mobile Data Service System (MDSS) as part of its expanded packet data portfolio for 2.5G and 3G networks. ECI Telecom reported Q2 revenue of $102 million compared to $119 million in Q1 2003 and $174 million in Q2 2002. Gross profit was $37.3 million (36.7% of revenues), compared to gross profit of $48.7 million (41.0%) in Q1 and $67.5 million (38.8%) in Q2 2002.
