Aperto Names Mike Pratt as CEO

Aperto Networks, a supplier of WiMAX base stations and subscriber units, named Mike Pratt as its new president and CEO, replacing Reza Ahy, who will continue his role as Founder and Chairman of the Board of Aperto Networks. Pratt was recently the President of ADC's Active Infrastructure business unit. The Ethernet Alliance has formed two new subcommittees chartered to support the IEEE 802.3 standards development process. Comcast will order the Motorola SBV5220, a combination modem and phone adapter, also known as an embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (eMTA), for deployment in customer homes.
