ADVA Optical Networking has enhanced its FSP 3000 platform with an integrated Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) capability for end-to-end analysis and monitoring of the fiber transport network. This enables testing of dark fiber issues such as fiber breaks or bends, deficient fiber splices, damaged connectors or other issues that degrade or destroy the performance of services.
