Nokia Siemens Networks Spins Out its OTN Team

Nokia Siemens Networks announced a deal with GIMV, a Belgian investment company specializing in private equity and venture capital, to spin-out its Open Transport Network (OTN) into an independent company. The newly formed company will be majority owned by GIMV and have approximately 80 employees. Verizon Selects Nortel's Metro Ethernet Routing and PBB

Verizon Telecom has selected Nortel's Metro Ethernet Routing Switch (MERS 8600) to expand its metro Ethernet backbone.The platform provides Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB) technology, MPLS related technology, and the Metro Ethernet Manager (MEM) system.
