Oki Develops a 43 Gbps Modulated Laser

Oki Semiconductor introduced a new Electro-Absorption Modulated Laser (EML) with 1.3 μm wavelength band capable of 43 Gbps serial transmission up to 10 km. Sampling is set for June 2010 and product launch is scheduled to take place in October 2010.OKI Semiconductor already offers an EML with 1.55 μm wavelength band compliant with XLMD-MSA for 40 Gbps.
