FCC 700 MHz Auction Tops $18.8 Billion

After 31 rounds, bids for various licenses in the 700 MHz band have reached $18,824,927,700. Bids for the package of licenses covering all 50 states have increased to $5.2 billion from $4.7 billion in Round 26. Update on Undersea Cable Restoration Progress

On Sunday, 03-Feb-2008, FLAG Telecom updated its progress report in repairing its two damaged submarine cables:FLAG Europe-Asia cable (reported cut at 0800 hrs GMT on 30-Jan-2008) -- a repair ship loaded with spares sailed from Catania, Italy and is expected to reach the site by 05-Feb-2008.
