Samsung wins huge 5G contract with Verizon

Samsung Electronics America has won a contract valued at approximately US$6.6 billion (7.9 trillion won) to supply network infrastructure to Verizon. The announcement was made in a financial disclosure posted by Samsung in Korea. The contract runs through 2025. Orange launches 5G in Spain

Orange activated its commercial 5G service in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla y Málaga. TDC activated its commercial 5G network across Denmark.  TDC is using the 3.5GHz spectrum band. The launch includes the major Danish cities of Copenhagen, Odense, Aarhus and Helsingør. Deutsche Telekom boosts mobile network in Germany

Deutsche Telekom upgraded 5,300 mobile sites across Germany in Q2, including the construction of 82 new sites, and the addition of 5G to 4,700 sites. SCMP: Huawei seeks to raise fresh funds from employees

Huawei has launched an internal funding program that is selling virtual shares to employees, according to South China Morning Post.  The program is seen as a way for Huawei to raise funds for its R&D programs amidst increasing pressure from U.S. sanctions.
