SureWest Cites Revenue Growth for its Triple Play Launch

SureWest Communications, an integrated communications provider based in Roseville, California, reported quarterly revenue of $50.3 million, up 17% year-over-year, and net income of $2.7 million, or $0.19 per share. The carrier has nearly 18,000 DSL subscribers, up by 1,152 for the quarter. Residential broadband "triple-play" voice, data and video revenues climbed to $2.3 million in Q2 from $1.9 million in Q1 2003, as demand remained strong and the pace of installations accelerated. Cisco Systems reported quarterly net sales $4.7 billion, compared with $4.8 billion for the same period last year and $4.6 billion in the preceding quarter. Ubicom, a developer of wireless network processor and software platforms, named Douglas Spreng as its new CEO. Spreng also serves as Ubicom's Chairman of the Board. Deutsche Telekom's T-Com division awarded a multi-year contract valued at several million dollars to ClickSoftware for the use of its workforce management software.
