The U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) has launched an investigation into Huawei and ZTE, citing "the threat posed by Chinese-owned telecommunications companies working in the United States."
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08 and Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said the investigation will review the extent to which these companies provide the Chinese government an opportunity for greater foreign espionage, threaten our critical infrastructure, and further the opportunity for Chinese economic espionage. - Earlier this month, Huawei kicked off a new "Faster to the Future" branding campaign in the U.S. with high-profile, print advertisements in The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post. Huawei said its campaign seeks to humanize its brand, "softening the edges of its image, and building positive awareness of Huawei as Visionary, Innovative, and Responsive" by appealing to key customers, partners, government officials/influencers, and business opinion leaders.
