APNIC Receives Last IPv4 Address Block Allocation

APNIC, which is one of five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) for Asia-Pacific, reported receipt of its final allocation IPv4 address blocks from IANA, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is responsible for the global coordination of the DNS Root, IP addressing, and other Internet protocol resources.


APNIC expects to continue normal IPv4 allocations to continue for a further three to six months. After this time, APNIC will continue to make small allocations from the last /8 block, to assist with IPv4 to IPv6 transition.
