Ubicom Names Douglas Spreng as CEO

Ubicom, a developer of wireless network processor and software platforms, named Douglas Spreng as its new CEO. Spreng also serves as Ubicom's Chairman of the Board. Most recently, Spreng served as president and chief operating officer (COO) of Applied MicroCircuits Corporation (AMCC). Prior to that, he was president and CEO of MMC Networks (acquired by AMCC). Prior to MMC Networks, Spreng was executive vice president of the Client Access Business Unit at 3Com. Ubicom is based in Mountain View, California.
