U.S. District Judge Questions Telecom Mega-Mergers

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan will hold a hearing later this month to examine the effects of the recent AT&T + SBC and Verizon + MCI on telecom competition. The increased scrutiny of past telecom mergers could mean that the pending AT&T + BellSouth will face additional scrutiny.
