FCC Schedules Meeting on Hurricane Katrina Failure

The FCC will hold an Open Meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2005 to focus on the effects of Hurricane Katrina on communications services in the Gulf Coast states.


In a joint statement, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and Michael Copps: "In the days ahead, the challenge will be facilitating service restoration. But in the long term, we will need to learn from this event and work together to improve the reliability, survivability, and security of our nation's telecommunications networks."http://www.fcc.gov
