Broadcom Acquires Gadzoox Networks for its SAN Technology

Broadcom acquired a substantial portion of the assets of Gadzoox Networks, a provider of storage networking systems, for approximately $5.8 million, subject to a post-closing adjustment. Gadzoox Networks developed standards-based 1-, 2- and 10-Gigabit Fibre Channel technology that is also interoperable with legacy networks. Broadcom said the acquisition of Gadzoox technology and the Gadzoox engineering team would enable it to "change the economic dynamics of storage networking." Gadzoox Networks is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
