Arm unveils Neoverse Compute Subsystems for Custom Silicon

Arm has announced a new product offering called Arm Neoverse Compute Subsystems (CSS) that enables Arm partners to build specialized silicon at a lower cost, with less risk and a faster time-to-market.

Neoverse CSS is based on the Arm Neoverse architecture, which is designed for datacenter, edge computing, and high-performance computing use.

The first product in the Neoverse CSS family is Arm Neoverse CSS N2, which is a 5nm-based compute subsystem that can support up to 64 cores and with core frequencies of 2.1GHz up to 3.6Ghz. The design is optimized for cloud computing, AI/ML, and high-performance computing.

Significantly, Arm Neoverse CSS N2 supports high-speed chip-to-chip links, using UCIe or a partner-specific PHY, can link up to 128-cores in a single socket. And two sockets can be coherently connected using CXL PHYs and SMP protocol.
