Continuous Computing Develops Femtocell Software Solution

Continuous Computing released its Trillium Femtocell protocol software solution for telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs). Femtocells, or access point base stations, are cellular access points that connect to a mobile operator's network using residential DSL or cable modem connections.

The new femtocell solution consists of Trillium 3G/4G Wireless protocol software, expert Trillium Professional Services, and a wide ecosystem of hardware partners.

Protocol support also includes Trillium SIP and UMTS Generic Access Network (GAN) core network interface options, among others. Trillium Femtocell software delivers optimized data and control plane performance aligned with High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and emerging 3G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) latency and throughput requirements.

Continuous Computing also announced that the company is a full member of The Femto Forum, an independent organization committed to supporting and increasing the standardization and adoption of femtocell technology.
