Intel Boosts Centrino Mobile for 802.11g

Intel introduced a new Centrino mobile connector supporting both 802.11b and 802.11g standards. The company said its new Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection is designed to maintain high throughput at longer ranges in office or home environments, along with efficient use of power to enable longer system battery life. The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection is also software upgradeable, allowing it to support future security and other service enhancements.



The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection consists of a communications and radio chip, both designed and developed by Intel at its wireless networking facilities in Haifa, Israel and San Diego. It comes in an embedded mini-PCI adapter. http://www.intel.com
