Zhone Technologies introduced its Raptor DSL Access Multiplexer featuring in-service software-selectable ATM or IP uplinks. The platform is also software upgradeable to function as a fully functional Voice+Data NGDLCm, enabling the combination of POTS + DSL + T1/E1 in one platform. It also features a high-performance video-optimized backplane; available integrated IP termination and subscriber management for Internet access in a single platform. The Zhone Raptor is available in a range of environmentally hardened shelf sizes including 7U, 3U and 1U that can be deployed in the CO, in Remote Terminals or in buildings. Density in a 7 foot rack is 3,840 ADSL ports or 2,880 G.SHDSL ports. Raptor supports a variety of line interfaces and uplinks from 10/100baseT to DS1 IMA and OC-12.
