Spatial Wireless Raises $27 Million for Mobile Network Softswitching

Spatial Wireless, a start-up based in Richardson, Texas, announced the closing of $27 million in additional equity financing for its core softswitch for mobile networks. Spatial Wireless has developed a distributed architecture call server, media gateway and element management system that supports distributed mobile switching center solutions as well as network overlay deployments for Gateway MSC and network services solutions. In the past year, Spatial Wireless has commercially deployed its products in multiple domestic and international networks. The new funding round was led by VantagePoint Venture Partners and included all existing investors -- Austin Ventures; Sequoia Capital; Dali, Hook Partners; Genesis Campus and QUALCOMM. Spatial Wireless has raised $58 million since its inception in 2001.
