Redback Adds VPN Provisioning and Activation Partners

Redback Networks named two OSS partners to enhance provisioning and management of IP/MPLS VPN services enabled by its SmartEdge 800 Router. CPlane's service activation solution for deployment and management of MPLS-enabled IP VPNs now supports Redback's SmartEdge 800 Router. The Cplane software combines provider-specific SmartEdge configuration with SmartEdge resource level awareness, enabling end-to-end bandwidth guarantees and bandwidth-on-demand service features. Separately, Redback has extended its existing partnership with Sheer Networks to include support of the SmartEdge 800 Router. Sheer's Broadband Operating Supervisor reduces provisioning times, allowing for service customization and differentiation, and provides real-time end-to-end detection of faults and service impact analysis. Sheer Networks already supported Redback's SMS subscriber management systems for DSL provisioning and assurance.
