Algeria's DJEZZY OTA, a division of Vimpelcom, is deploying Alcatel-Lucent's 9500 Microwave Packet Radio solution to upgrade its mobile backhaul network. Alcatel-Lucent will also be providing DJEZZY (OTA) with its 7705 SAR A and SAM 5620
Microwave is more cost effective and practical for remote regions of the country. The MPR will be deployed in four zones out of a total of six, covering 67% of DJEZZY (OTA) ’s network.
Alcatel-Lucent noted that it's 9500 MPR solution is currently deployed in over 260 networks around the world.
