Verizon announced an expansion of its Healthcare Enabled Services to five additional data centers and featuring a broader range of cloud and data center infrastructure services. The facilities help the healthcare industry to meet the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements for safeguarding electronic protected health information (ePHI).
In addition to Miami, Fla. and Culpeper, Va., healthcare organizations can now securely store their ePHI in Verizon's data centers located in Richardson, Texas; Santa Clara, Calif.; Englewood, Colo.; Carteret, N.J. and Elmsford, N.Y.
