Michigan Tech Deploys BridgeWave's 80 GHz Radios

Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) has deployed BridgeWave's 80 GHz millimeter wave systems to connect several disparate buildings across its campus. The 80 GHz links eliminated the need to trench fiber under the nearby Portage shipping canal. The GigE wireless bridges have a highly secure, narrow antenna beam width, which is useful when transferring sensitive information across the campus network. BridgeWave's AdaptRate (AR) radios also include Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), the strongest data encryption available. The university reports that the connections continue to perform during Michigan's notoriously snowy winter. http://www.bridgewave.com
