Hong Kong's New World Telecom Tests 100G with Alcatel-Lucent

Hong Kong-based New World Telecom has selected Alcatel-Lucent to prepare its optical network for 100G transmission. At the heart of the Alcatel-Lucent-provided solution is the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), which will enable New World Telecom to support a mixture of 10G, 40G and 100G channels on the same fiber pair. Financial terms were not disclosed.
