Spirent Offer LTE Device RF Testing

At CTIA Wireless 2010 in Las Vegas, Spirent Communications demonstrated its system for testing the RF performance of a pre-commercial LTE modem. For an LTE deployment to meet its technical and business objectives, devices will need to be verified against a new set of technical challenges prior to commercial launch. There are band-specific issues due to spectrum availability and the difficulties of effectively implementing Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology in a mobile device form factor. Spirent said performance testing is fundamental to the LTE ecosystem's ability to seamlessly deliver a full range of voice, data and media services, between devices, networks and multiple generations of wireless technologies, across the globe.


Spirent's LTE RF Performance solution offers an open, scalable multi-purpose test system that is expandable beyond initial testing needs to include LTE pre-conformance and validated conformance test cases.
