Samsung Partners with Sandbridge on LTE-capable Platform

Samsung will showcase several LTE devices at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that are powered by Sandbridge's SB3500 flexible baseband processor -- a multi-core, multi-threaded, dynamically reprogrammable processor. Development for the LTE communication system was led by Samsung, with Sandbridge providing technical support. The implementation resulted in the development and execution of a fully compliant LTE platform conforming to the latest 3GPP Release 8 standardization. The Sandbridge platform, ideal for new OFDMA based standards (Mobile WiMAX, LTE, etc.), has been applied to Samsung's Mobile WiMAX platform as well.
