Cisco reported third quarter net sales of $9.8 billion, net income on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis of $1.8 billion or $0.29 per share, and non-GAAP net income of $2.3 billion or $0.38 per share. GAAP income was $1.8 billion, down 5% YoY.
Some highlights:
- Routing revenue was up 14% YoY. CRS-1 revenue was up 150% YoY. High-end routing revenue overall was up 25% YoY.
- Switch revenue was up 3% YoY. Fixed switching was up 11% YoY.
- Advanced Technology revenue was up 17% YoY. Unified Communications, including WebEx, was up 45%.
- Services Revenue was up in the mid-teens YoY.
- Global Customer Segments: Commercial sales were up 18%, Enterprise was up 9%, Service Provider was up 6%, Consumer/Linksys was up 13% YoY.
- Cash and cash equivalents and investments were $24.4 billion at the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2008, compared with $22.3 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007, and compared with $22.7 billion at the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2008.
