Covergence introduced a session border controller solution for the IBM BladeCenter in order to facilitate the integration of real-time communications into enterprise business platforms.
The Covergence - IBM solution delivers the full implementation of Covergence's access-edge Session Border Controller (aSBC) as a blade within an IBM BladeCenter chassis. The companies said the CXC appliance enables services such as presence-enabled instant messaging (IM), audio, video and others. One customer has used the CXC web services interface to integrate call control and automatic voicemail initiation into their CRM system. Now the customer's sales force is able to initiate calls from the CRM system and if the call goes to a prospect's voicemail, the CXC delivers a pre-recorded voicemail from the sales representative so the representative can move on to a new prospect.
