Extreme Networks Sees Quarterly Results Below Expectations

Extreme Networks expects its net revenue for the fiscal quarter ended 02-Apr-2006 to be $84 million to $85 million. This is below the company's previous expectations of $90 million to $95 million, due primarily to lower than anticipated revenues in the U.S. and Japan, which offset revenue growth in the Company's European markets.

Based on preliminary information, the Company expects earnings per diluted share for the third quarter to be between a profit of $0.01 and a loss of ($0.01) on a GAAP basis. Excluding stock-based compensation expense, non-GAAP earnings per diluted share for the quarter is expected to be between a profit of $0.02 and $0.00.
