Capgemini Joins Consortium for Galileo GPS System

Capgemini has joined the Eurely consortium, which is bidding to become the concessionaire for the European Galileo satellite positioning system. The Eurely consortium was formed by Alcatel, Finmeccanica and Vinci Networks.



The Galileo positioning system, which is funded by the European Commission and the European Space Agency, will based on a constellation of thirty satellites providing global coverage as a civilian radio-navigation system.
