Greenfield Networks, a start-up based in Sunnyvale, California, introduced an edge chassis design with full IPv6 support based on its new Gigabit Ethernet switching silicon and ATCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture). The Greenfield Networks reference design platform features 128 Gigabit Ethernet ports in 5 RU (rack units) of height. The reference design includes a supervisor engine that delivers all the management and control functions as well as low-cost Gigabit line cards featuring 32 GE ports. It supports control plane software from multiple third party vendors, featuring a variety of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols such as STP, RIP, OSPF, BGP and PIM. In addition, the design supports a variety of IPv6 routing protocols such as RIPng and OSPFv3 as well as MPLS protocols such as LDP. http://www.greenfieldnetworks.com
