Panasonic Deploys VocalData's IP Centrex for Japanese MSOs

Panasonic is now offering an enhanced residential cable telephony solution to its cable TV subscribers throughout Japan based on the application server developed by VocalData and provided by NTT Commware, a leading systems integrator. The deployment is currently serving 5,000 cable telephony users in Japan. The companies project a total of 20,000 lines by year-end. The cable telephony solution integrates the VocalData application server with Panasonic's Integrated Access Device, which lets residential users make VoIP calls using their existing telephones.
