Confluent Photonics, a start-up based in Salem, New Hampshire, raised $3 million in Series B funding for its development of DWDM products for CATV and telecom carriers. Confluent Photonics Corporation was established in December 2000 as a developer of planar waveguide optical components based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) semiconductor fabrication techniques. In 2002, Confluent Photonics added the Lightchip DWDM product line, through the acquisition of the business assets and the development team of Lightchip. InnoCal Venture Capital, Rustic Canyon Ventures, and INVESCO Private Capital participated in this latest round.
