Siemens Shows IP-based SURPASS Business Applications

Siemens Information and Communication Networks introduced a suite of IP-based business applications and services for the enterprise customers of carriers and service providers. The new applications, which are based on Siemens' SURPASS hiQ softswitch and SURPASS hiG media gateway, include IP-based Centrex, hosted communications services, click-to-dial, multi-party collaboration, unified voice-to-text and text-to- voice messaging, call management portal and integration with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, and other desktop applications. The Siemens architecture delivers converged voice and multimedia services to either PC clients or phones via SIP-based LAN connections, or to standard telephone sets via MGCP-based Internet Access Devices (IADs).
