Movaz to Resell Overture's Multi-Service Access Platform

Movaz Networks launched its RAYedge Multi-Service Access Platform for aggregation of Ethernet and TDM electrical services onto a variety of uplinks including OC12, Gigabit Ethernet and CWDM wavelengths. The platform is provided through an OEM agreement with Overture Networks, a start-up based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The RAYedge supports Layer 2 functionality over transparent Ethernet LAN interconnection, high-speed Internet access, private data lines for frame relay, PBX voice trunks, ISDN, IP video, and IP telephony.

  • In September 2002, Overture Networks, a start-up based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, raised $15 million in second round financing for its development of multi-service products for metro Ethernet/IP networks.
