Nielsen//NetRatings Counts 39 Million Americans Connecting via Broadband

There are now 39 million Internet users in the U.S. connecting via broadband, according to figures released by Nielsen/NetRatings. A single, residential broadband connection often serves multiple family members. While broadband users at-home grew 49% year-over-year and narrowband users declined 12% during May 2003, there are still nearly twice as many narrowband users (69.6 million users) as broadband users in the U.S. In comparison, last year there were three times as many narrowband users as broadband users.
