Lancope, a start-up based in Atlanta, Georgia, raised an additional $5 million in funding for its behavior-based "StealthWatch" Intrusion Detection Systems. Lancope's IDS operates at gigabit speeds, provides advanced network surveillance, recognizes unknown threats and creates a forensic trail of network activity. Lancope will use the infusion of capital to finance new product development and expand its sales and marketing initiatives. New investor Council Ventures, and Lancope's Series A investors, H.I.G. Ventures and GMG Capital Partners, participated in the round. Total funding in Lancope is now $12 million.
