Avvio Networks Launches Multi-rate Optical Transponder

Avvio Networks, a start-up based in Bedford, Massachusetts, launched a multi-rate optical transponder that can be used to carry 1310nm, 1550nm and 850nm equipment onto WDM wavelengths. The A1010 transponder re-times, re-generates and re-shapes the optical signals for increased data reliability. It transparently supports any protocol including SONET, SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand, ATM and TDM traffic at any rate from 155 Mbps to 2.7Gbps.
