Iron Mountain to acquire Frankfurt data center

Iron Mountain agreed to acquire a data center in Frankfurt from Calcium DC Pte. for EUR 76 million, 

The data center is a two-story, 20,000 square meter colocation data center site on freehold land in the Am Martinszehnten Industrial Park, which is in close proximity to the city center and Frankfurt Airport. The facility currently has 2.6 megawatts of leased capacity and 8 megawatts of capacity available for retail colocation customers with the option to expand in the future to add Edge computing at the premises. The data center has robust network connectivity, including access to DE-CIX.

Iron Mountain said the acquisition expands its presence in the Frankfurt market, which includes a 27 megawatt pre-leased facility in Frankfurt (FRA-1), and enables the company to add immediate capacity and to build out a team in a market with strong long-term demand.

In addition to the agreement to acquire the Frankfurt data center, Iron Mountain recently announced further expansion in Europe with a 27 megawatt data center build in London (LON-2), in addition to 9 megawatts of leasable capacity at its LON-1 data center. The Company also announced a recent joint venture with Web Werks, one of the top data center providers in India, adding three Tier 3, carrier-neutral data centers in Mumbai, Pune and Delhi to their global footprint.

Iron Mountain inaugurate Multi-Tenant Data Center in Singapore

Iron Mountain inaugurated an enterprise-class data center facility in Serangoon, Singapore. The

Singapore location, SIN-1, is Iron Mountain's first data center in Asia, providing customers access to 1.5 megawatts of capacity with the ability to deliver an incremental 3 megawatts in future phases.

With 5.5 megawatts of capacity across four 10,000 square foot data halls at full build-out, SIN-1 provides access to a number of hybrid IT services, including cloud backup, migration and disaster recovery, as well as a variety of flexible wholesale and retail colocation deployment options through private suites, secure cages and individual cabinets.

Iron Mountain to acquire IO Data Centers U.S. for $1.3B

Iron Mountain agreed to acquire the U.S. operations of IO Data Centers LLC, a colocation data center services provider based in Phoenix, Arizona, for $1.315 billion plus up to $60 million based on future performance.

The deal includes the land and buildings associated with four state-of-the-art data centers in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona; Edison, New Jersey; and Columbus, Ohio. The existing data center space in the four owned facilities totals 728,000 square feet, providing 62 megawatts (MW) of capacity with expansion potential of an additional 77 MW in Arizona and New Jersey.

This agreement follows the acquisition of FORTRUST data center on September 1, 2017, and the announcement of Iron Mountain's international data center expansion through the planned acquisition of two Credit Suisse data centers in the London and Singapore markets.

When the Credit Suisse and IO transactions are consummated in early 2018, Iron Mountain's data center portfolio will total more than 90 MW of existing capacity, with an additional 26 MW of capacity currently under construction and planned and future expansion potential of another 135 MW.
