Conterra Networks, which operates over 14,000 route miles of fiber connecting more than 8,000 on-net locations across the United States, is now offering 400G wavelength services to carrier clients in Texas, North Carolina, and Louisiana. Conterra is leveraging Ciena's WaveLogic 5 Extreme (WL5e) platform.
Conterra says it can activate new wave services in hours rather than weeks. In addition, Conterra has achieved a 30% increase in fiber capacity without the need for extensive infrastructure builds.
