Google Opens Massive Data Center in the Netherlands

Google announced the opening of its newest data center in Eemshaven, the Netherlands. The facility is 100% powered by renewable energy.

  • In September 2014, Google broke ground for the data center in Eemshaven, saying it planned to invest EUR 600 million in the facility.  The target date for opening was late 2016.
