Open networking can only evolve with the support of a community of developers, says David Ward, CTO of Engineering and Chief Architect of Cisco. But you can't just launch a developer community, you have to build it. Open Source communities have now emerged.
Cisco is working on many open networking fronts, including OpenDaylight, OPNFV, ONOS and OpenStack. In this video, Ward also highlights NETCONf and YANG, two standards seen as keys for infrastructure programmability.
