Three versions of Apple's iPhone 5 for Supporting Global LTE

Apple is producing three versions of the iPhone 5 to meet spectrum requirements of carriers worldwide. The first round of carriers supporting LTE was also confirmed.


GSM model A1428: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE Band (AWS) and LTE Band 17 (700b MHz). Carriers supporting include AT&T (U.S.), and is Canada, Bell (including Virgin), Rogers (including Fido), Telus (including Koodo).

CDMA model A1429: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE Band 1 (2100 MHz), LTE Band 3 (1800 MHz), LTE Band 5 (850 MHz), LTE Band 13 (700c MHz)and LTE Band 25 (1900 MHz). Carriers supporting include Sprint (U.S.),Verizon (U.S.), and KDDI (Japan).

GSM model A1429: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE Band 1 (2100 MHz), LTE Band 3 (1800 MHz), LTE Band 5 (850 MHz). Carriers supporting include Deutsche Telekom (Germany), Everything Everywhere (UK), Orange (UK), T-Mobile (UK), Optus & Virgin (Australia), Telstra (Australia), Softbank (Japan), SK Telecom (Korea), KT (Korea), SmarTone (Hong Kong), M1 (Singapore), and SingTel (Singapore).

Other radios on-board include 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz and 5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0.

Apple has not included NFC in the iPhone 5.
