Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) attracted first round auction bids valued at US$2.72 billion from six groups for 2.5 GHz frequency bands (intended for 4G) and 450 MHz (dedicated to improving coverage in rural areas).
Auction participants include Light / Americel, Tim / Intelig Hi, Live, Sunrise and Sky presented the proposed price and identity documents and licenses.
The average premium reached 34.37% compared to the minimum values of the lots put up for grabs. With the auction of 450 MHz band, rural areas will be covered with voice and data (broadband internet). http://www.anatel.gov.br/Portal/exibirPortalInternet.do
