T-Mobile USA Launches Dell Streak 7, 42 Mbps HSPA+ Coming

T-Mobile USA launched its first tablet, the Dell Streak 7, which is capable of peak speeds download rates of up to 21 Mbps. Running the Android 2.2 operating system, the Dell Streak 7 features a 7-inch WVGA touch screen with Gorilla Glass, dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and full Adobe Flash® Player 10.1 support.


T-Mobile also unveiled plans to double the speed of its HSPA+ network this year to 42 Mbps. A USB modem from ZTE is already capable of this rate. T-Mobile USA anticipates its first smartphones at 21 Mbps in the first half of the year, followed by smartphones capable of delivering peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps in the second half of the year.
