The Switch, which provides advanced video switching services for broadcasters, has entered into an agreement with Verizon that will expand its ability to offer high definition video services to the broadcast television marketplace on the East Coast. The arrangement enables The Switch to expand its national digital fiber transport services to comprise 31 states and Washington, DC. The Switch customers can now employ metro fiber optic services, including Verizon High Definition 1.485 Gbps, HD/SDI and Standard Definition 270 Mbps SDI local fiber circuits in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.
