NSN Says "Phantom DSL" Reaches 825 Mbps over 400 meters

Nokia Siemens Networks achieved DSL tops speeds of 825 Mbps over 400 meters of bonded copper lines and 750 Mbps over 500 meters. The next-gen DSL tests involved the creation of a virtual - or "phantom" - channel to supplement the two physical wires that are the standard configuration for copper transmission lines. The company is showcasing its Phantom DSL prototype at this week's Broadband World Forum 2010 in Paris.

Nokia Siemens Networks plans to make Phantom DSL an integral part of its hiX 562x/3x DSLAM products.
