Microsoft Claims 60 Mobile Carriers for Windows Phone 7 Launch

Microsoft unveiled its Windows Phone 7, claiming that over 60 mobile operators in 30 countries have committed to bringing Windows Phones to market. Windows Phone 7 will be available from at least four manufacturers initially -- Dell, HTC Corp., LG and Samsung -- all of which are using Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor. Key mobile operators offering Windows Phone 7 include America Movil, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Movistar, O2, Orange, SFR, SingTel, Telstra, TELUS, T-Mobile USA and Vodafone. The phones will be sold by carrier partners as well as in Microsoft Store locations and from Amazon.


Microsoft confirmed that CDMA versions of Windows Phone 7 will be arriving in 2011, including from Sprint and Verizon Wireless.


Microsoft said Windows Phone 7 will be distinguished by the integrated experiences it offers, built from its experience with Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Office Mobile, Zune, Windows Live, Bing and other Microsoft products.
