E-Band Adds 60 GHz Point-to-Point Radio

E-Band Communications introduced a line of 60 GHz point-to-point radios. The E-Link Mini 320 is rated at 320 Mbps full-duplex and features a flat panel design measuring 7 inches square. The unit uses Power-over-Ethernet (just one cable handles power and data transmission) and Spectrum efficient QPSK modulation. The 60 GHz band enables license-free operation in most countries.

"Building on the popularity of our 70/80 GHz solutions, we have added a line of products in the 60 GHz frequency range," said Saul Umbrasas, co-founder and senior vice president at E-Band Communications. "Compared to competing 60 GHz radios with 100 Mbps capacity, the E-Link Mini 320 provides over three times higher capacity in a much smaller package. At just 7.2 inches square, the E-Link Mini 320 is less than half the size, weight and power consumption of our competitions' 60 GHz radios, and doesn't require a separate external power supply and cable. The size, pricing and performance of the E-Link Mini 320 makes it the perfect solution for extending macrocell networks to a street-level microcellular architecture, especially in dense urban settings."http://www.e-band.com
